For the second year in a row, the Harley Davidson bikers group from the Bologna Chapter has visited the Institute for the Blind Francesco Cavazza to offer their members' voluntary contribution to the activities carried out by the Istituto. The Bologna Chapter of Harley Davidson bikers was established in 1997 and counts today around 120 members who, beyond the desire to be together, have fun, and ride their bikes for hours or days on end, are interested in doing things for other people, involving themselves in social causes and volunteering since year 2000 in charitable events of various types. I reached by phone the Bologna Chapter Director, Stefano Martelli, to ask him a few questions and to know more about this versatile group.
- How did the first meeting between your group and the Istituto Cavazza come about?
- It was in 2009, and it happened thanks to Dr. Nicola Cosentino. A surgeon specialized in eye surgery, he is also a member of the Board of the Bologna Chapter. He talked to us about what the Istituto Cavazza does, telling us that it was a centre specialized in providing services and training to people living with vision loss. We then decided to support the Institute's initiatives and we are very proud of this.
- During this year's meeting, your group had the chance to visit the studios of Radio Oltre, Cavazza's official Web radio.

This last-generation equipment contributes to opening a window on the world for Vedere Oltre. What were your impressions?
- We have literally discovered another world. I think I can speak on behalf of all those who were there, like me, that morning saying that we had not expected to find such leading-edge technology and instruments used with such professionalism, "breaking down" every obstacle.
- This is the second year; do you plan to continue this experience?
- Certainly, we are more than happy to collaborate to the development of the Istituto Cavazza's activities. We are very proud to be counted among the supporters who work in such an important field.
- So, we say until next time?!
- Absolutely, YES, like we bikers say... ENJOY THE RIDE!
